  • When you are writing software, the last thing you want to do after writing all your business logic code is to worry about implementing the ability to print on continuous-feed paper. With CBB TextPrinter, you don't have to worry about that. Our ready-and-tested component lets you add such functionality to your product quickly and easily, unlike using Win32 API which is not designed for continuous paper and other requirements typical to retail applications.

  • Note: TextPrinter is designed for continuous paper, barcodes and fast textual printing. If you are looking for an ActiveX component that will print graphical formats such as HTML, RTF, or PDF then you should check the ASP Printer COM component instead.

  • ActiveX component - You can use it with most programming languages on any 32bit Windows OS with no compile or link problems. For example, you can use TextPrinter from applications written with Visual C++, Visual Basic, .NET, Microsoft Access, even Javascript in a web client.

  • Examples - The evaluation package includes numerous examples to help you start. Examples are provided for: VS6, VS.NET, VB, ASP, VBScript and Javascript.

  • Formatting and special codes - TextPrinter deals with printing text, so it doesn't support graphics or formatting by default. However, if your printer supports it (and most do), there is a set of special codes called escape codes. Using escape codes, which are usually proprietary and depend on the printer manufacturer, you can add formatting or issue commands such as: cut paper, open cash drawer, etc.

  • Print on continuous paper with ease - You don't have to be limited by "pages". Just setup your tractor-feed printer with the continuous paper of your choice and you're ready to print in any size you want.

  • Fast - TextPrinter is able to utilize the speed of modern printers (most go up to 400 characters per second), so you can print quickly.

  • Indication of success - You will know when the data can't be sent to the printer. Printing a ticket or a receipt can be an important part of your transaction. It will create conflicts if you update the database and the print job gets canceled later in the Print Manager. Furthermore, since TextPrinter contains a stateless MTS object, advanced developers can integrate TextPrinter into their transactions.
